5:00 PM - 7:00 PM    OtterBots First Lego League Robotics - 2025 First Lego League Robotics - Youth
Come join the OtterBots, Brandons’s FIRST Lego League (FLL) team, for fun and adventure in STEM. STEM is a vital part of education and what better way to get involved at an early age than with community support and robots.   Tomorrow’s innovators practice imaginative thinking and teamwork. Guided by adult Coaches, FLL teams research a real-world problem such as exploration, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also design, build and program a robot using the LEGO Spike Prime® platform, then compete against teams across Vermont on a table-top playing field.It all adds up to tons of fun while participants learn to apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts (STEM), plus a big dose of imagination, to solve problems. Along their journey, they develop critical thinking and team-building skills, basic STEM applications, and presentation skills, as they present their solutions to judges.

8:00 AM - 8:45 AM    Football - 2025 1st & 2nd NFL Flag
Fall means football in the 05733.  The Brandon Rec has a strong tradition of supporting a safe and affordable feeder program for future Otters.7th & 8th Tackle Football - 2024 the Vermont Principals Association made the decision to allow for sanctioned tackle football for middle school.  Players are in full pads/helmet.  3 practices a week will help to prepare these area youth for an 6 game Football season that ends in late October. Practices and home games will be held at the Otter Valley JV Field.  5th & 6th Grade Padded Flag - Players are in full pads/helmet.  2 Practices a week will prepare students to play in Saturday games in Middlebury.  Practices held at Otter Valley3rd & 4th Grade Padded Flag - Players are in full pads/helmet.  Practices 2 days a week.  Intrasquad scrimmages and possible games with opponents in Middlebury.  1st and 2nd grades NFL Flag- Once a week practices begin in Early September using the NFL program.  Youth will pick wear their favorite team jersies while learning about football basics and having fun!*need based scholarships available upon request*

Pick-up basketball has a strong tradition here in the '733.  Thanks to partnerships with the Otter Valley Unified Union School District, the gymnasiums at The Neshobe School and Otter Valley Middle/High Schools have been made available for adults to play competitive pick-up basketball.  Good sportsmanship and great hoops await you.  To play, you must complete the free registration (insurance waiver) to sign-up for the game(s)  that work for you.
