STEM is a vital part of education and what better way to get involved at an early age than with community support and robots. Tomorrow’s innovators practice imaginative thinking and teamwork. Guided by adult Coaches, FLL teams research a real-world problem such as exploration, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also design, build and program a robot using the LEGO Spike Prime® platform, then compete against teams across Vermont on a table-top playing field. It all adds up to tons of fun while participants learn to apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts (STEM), plus a big dose of imagination, to solve problems. Along their journey, they develop critical thinking and team-building skills, basic STEM applications, and presentation skills, as they present their solutions to judges.

Aikido with Wade-sensei - 2025 - Youth - MONDAY and SATURDAY-FALL Thanks to a collaboration with Aikido Vermont and Brandon Rec, we are proud to offer Youth Aikido Classes in Brandon. Aikido is a form of Japanese Budo, based largely on movements and techniques of the Samurai. While the movements in Aikido are closely related to fighting techniques, we use these techniques to study harmony and balanced relationships. We primarily study with one partner in a class, and alternate between studying balanced, clear, guiding movements and off-balance, following movements. These two participants work together to create one technique. We emphasize safety and care for our partner so that both people can enjoy the study.Adult I - BeginnerAdult II - Wooden Weapons & Testing **Youth class focuses less on the technical aspects of Aikido and more on having fun working with others in a safe environment. It is a study involving discipline and etiquette, so students learn to remain focused and attentive throughout class, though games and stories are often included.**

OtterBots First Lego League Robotics - 2025 First Lego League Robotics - Youth Come join the OtterBots, Brandons’s FIRST Lego League (FLL) team, for fun and adventure in STEM.
