Aikido with Wade-sensei - 2024 - Youth II - SATURDAY Fall Thanks to a collaboration with Aikido Vermont and Brandon Rec, we are proud to offer Youth Aikido Classes in Brandon. Aikido is a form of Japanese Budo, based largely on movements and techniques of the Samurai. While the movements in Aikido are closely related to fighting techniques, we use these techniques to study harmony and balanced relationships. We primarily study with one partner in a class, and alternate between studying balanced, clear, guiding movements and off-balance, following movements. These two participants work together to create one technique. We emphasize safety and care for our partner so that both people can enjoy the study.Adult I - BeginnerAdult II - Wooden Weapons & Testing **Youth class focuses less on the technical aspects of Aikido and more on having fun working with others in a safe environment. It is a study involving discipline and etiquette, so students learn to remain focused and attentive throughout class, though games and stories are often included.**

Aikido with Wade-sensei - 2024 - Youth I - Fall Thanks to a collaboration with Aikido Vermont and Brandon Rec, we are proud to offer Youth Aikido Classes in Brandon.

December in NYC! - December Trip to NYC! Another great adventure from Brandon Rec! Yes! From Brandon to NYC! The schedule:Get on the bus at Rutland Rec, 134 Community Drive, Rutland VT, 5AMRelax and ride to NYCDrop off at Bryant Park, NYC at approx 11amGo do what you want! See a show! Do some shopping! See the city! Eat great food!Get back on the bus at 9pm, Bryant Park. (You must be on the bus- the police monitor the buses and they only have a few minutes to board!) Relax, go to sleep, bring your headphones. Arrive 134 Community Drive, Rutland VT at about 2:30am, Dec 15, go home! There are no refunds for this program! Check your calendar prior to purchase!Commonly asked questions:*Can we bring a pillow and blanket? Yes, and they can stay on the bus. You won't be able to access them during the day, but they'll be on the bus when you go home. *Can we bring a SMALL cooler? Yes, and it can stay on the bus. But, you cannot access it during the day. *Do we have to stop in the middle of the trip? Yes. Our drivers deserve the opportunity to go to the bathroom, get a coffee, stretch their legs. We will usually stop at a rest stop with a starbucks, and they are slower than slow. In NYC they are on every corner. If you can wait to get your starbucks fix,Repeat- Starbucks on I-87 is slower than slow!! it will get us to NYC faster. *What happens if I'm late to the bus? Well, you will get left in NYC. So I suggest you get to Bryant Park by 8:30-45, and wait around. Trust me, you are gonna be tired and ready to sit down! *We want to get tickets to a show! What time will we be in NYC? If everything goes as scheduled, we will arrive at 10:30-11:00am. If there is a traffic issue, we may be 15-20 min late. My advice is to get tickets to anything no earlier than 1pm. You can do what you want, but that's what I'd do!No one under 16 without a guardian. If you get arrested, you are on your own. I do not provide bail money. Everyone will get an opportunity to put my number into their phone on the bus, in case of emergency. We watch Elf and Christmas Story on the way down. Wear comfortable shoes! Some years, it snows, last year it rained, so dress for the weather! I love this trip and I know you will too!

Aikido with Wade-sensei - 2024 - Youth I - Fall Thanks to a collaboration with Aikido Vermont and Brandon Rec, we are proud to offer Youth Aikido Classes in Brandon.
